1:
When I go to "References > New Reference" or when I try to edit an existing reference in a library, nothing happens with EndNote 8 or later on a Mac. When I close EndNote, I get an "Unexpectedly Quit" error. How can I resolve this? |
Answer:
To resolve this:
- Go to the EndNote 8 or later menu, select Preferences.
- Then, choose the "EndNote Defaults" button.
- Click on "Display fonts" then choose the "EndNote Defaults" button.
- Click on the next option down, and click the default button.
- Do this for each option here.
- Click Save, and close this window.
You should now be able to open the reference editing window once again. This should also resolve the "Unexpectedly Quit" error message.
In a few cases, it's actually necessary to completely recreate the preferences for EndNote 8 or later in order to resolve this problem. If the above does not resolve the problem, then use the steps here, which will reset your preferences.
