23:
My document is showing the abstract in the bibliography, but I don't want the abstract to be present. How can I correct this? |
Answer:
The default output style for EndNote is the Annotated style, which includes the abstract in the reference list. To fix this, you just need to format the bibliography and select an output style that doesn't include the abstract. To do this:
- In the document, do the following:
Word 2007 With EndNote X1/X2: Go to the EndNote tab.
Word 2007 with EndNote X and earlier: Go to the Add-Ins tab and choose "EndNote > Format Bibliography."
Word X/2000/2002 (XP)/2003/2004/2008: Go to the "Tools" Menu and choose "EndNote > Format bibliography."
- Here, select the output style you'd like to use in the output style dropdown menu. A generic output style you can use for this purpose is the "Author/Date" style.
Note: To use a style not on the dropdown, in Word X/2000/2002 (XP)/2003/2004/2008 and Word 2007 with EndNote X and earlier, click on the Browse button to select another output style.
In EndNote X1/X2 Word 2007, choose "Select another style..." from the dropdown menu.
- Click the OK button (or "Update Citations and Bibliography" in Word 2007 and EndNote X1/X2) to format the document using your selected style.
