Thomson ResearchSoft and SCIPROOF Announce Marketing Agreement

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Carlsbad, CA and Portland, OR. USA - October 26, 2004
—Today, Thomson ResearchSoft (www.isiresearchsoft.com), a business of the Thomson Corporation, and SCIPROOF LLC announced a collaboration focused on SCIPROOF’s flagship product sciPROOF. Under the agreement, ResearchSoft will co-market sciPROOF worldwide to researchers in academic and government institutions and the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. The companies are also exploring workflow between their respective products to increase productivity for scientific researchers.

ResearchSoft is the maker of EndNote®, Reference Manager®, ProCite®, RefViz, and WriteNote—bibliographic management and text analysis solutions for the desktop and Web. These programs are industry standards, used by researchers worldwide. A powerful scientific proofreading program, sciPROOF for Windows® verifies scientific spelling, formatting and symbols.

“We are pleased to offer the proofing capabilities of sciPROOF to our customers who conduct scientific research and publish manuscripts,” said David L. Kochalko, President, Thomson ResearchSoft. “We have an ongoing commitment to deliver solutions that advance writing and publishing, and sciPROOF is the latest example of the kinds of innovative products we believe will benefit our users.”

“By enhancing the standard proofreading features common in word processing software, sciPROOF complements the research and writing tools EndNote, Reference Manager and ProCite,” said Thomas E. Perrin, President of SCIPROOF. “As the market leader, ResearchSoft is our ideal partner, and this marketing agreement will introduce sciPROOF to millions of its customers.”

Seamlessly integrated with Microsoft Office®, sciPROOF streamlines the scientific writing process by verifying spelling, style, acronyms and Greek symbols. The program comes equipped with a powerful database engine that includes over 250,000 technical, scientific, medical and chemical terms from the US National Library of Medicine (NLM) and the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI). Other tools for scientific writing such as formatting, reference searching, and glossaries are also included. Just as ResearchSoft programs save researchers countless hours of typing references and interpreting style requirements, sciPROOF saves users time by proofreading standard scientific notation and providing specialized functions not offered in standard word processing software.

Pricing and Availability
Available for Windows, sciPROOF is compatible with Microsoft Office 2000, XP and 2003. Customers can purchase sciPROOF through ResearchSoft for $99.00 USD. A special introductory offer is available through December 31, 2004. For more information visit www.endnote.com/partners/sciproof.asp.
